Observation of Domestic Plastic Mold Status 

Most of the imported molds, are precision, large, complex, long-life. Therefore, from the aspects of reducing import, improve localization rate, this kind of high-grade mold will also gradually increase the market proportion. Plastic instead of wood and metal, this made demand of the plastic production become greater in the automotive industry, as well as household appliance industry such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and microwave ovens.

According to a domestic market research, in recent years, Chinese plastic mold industry has developed rapidly. At present, the plastic mold represent about 30% sharein the mold industry, and 50%~70% in the mold of import and export. With the rapidly development of China’s machinery, automotive, home appliances, electronic information, and construction materials industry, the proportion will keep increasing.

Despite the plastic mold market is alluring; it is still difficult to plan the job. Due to the complex structure and flexible design of plastic parts, high requirement for mold materials and machining equipment, not everyone can easily get involved. Experts believe that there is a big gap between our country and abroad. Now, we need to break through three bottlenecks of mold industry development as soon as possible, first is imporvement of R&D of plastic materials and injection molding process; secondly, the plastic comopany should develop toward to industrial park to accelerate the integration of resources; thirdly, skills and fixture of the mold trial inspection test  must be improved as soon as possible, otherwise, the plastic mold development will be restricted.
